The future of TV

With the convergence of Internet, high-speed broadband and smart devices (smart phones and tablets), everyone agrees that the TV as we know it will no longer be the same. Apart from the hardware itself morphing into different shapes and sizes, getting more and more intelligent and connected, the content and the way it is consumed will also see a dramatic shift. Everyone has their own predictions and are investing in the future accordingly. Erica Emmich, CNBC Associate Producer , did speak to a lot of experts and asked them on what are their predictions for the future of  TV. Unfortunately, my prediction about Facebook comes true…

In January this year, in my blog post titled “Why is Facebook planning to go public now?”, I had predicted that all is not well with facebook and that is the reason for the timing of the IPO. I was way off mark in the speed that I thought things would pan out, only goes on to point out that the pace of change around us is astounding to say the least. People – to – People banking services by CivilisedMoney

The Crowdsourcing business model has been around for sometime now and has proven to be a good business model for independent artists to fund their projects. I really like this analogy.    The advantage of considering your business model innovation project as producing a film helps the project in the following ways: Makes the entire process more fun and exciting. Provides us a process to follow when the team falters. As with producing a film, you need a team of people with a diverse sets of skills to come together and work to […]

Business opportunity for Gillette

Today, I went to a barber shop to get a haircut and a shave. I must say that I was not surprised to see that the barber shop was still continuing to use the regular old shaving blades and had not upgraded to multiple blade products introduced a decade before by Gillette and other such companies. When I asked the barber why he did not upgrade to twin blade or other such razors, he cited the cost of such blades as the reason.  I think that inertia is also one of the reasons. This is how everyone does it and so […]
