Best Among What I Read this Week

1. A Cult of Creation :

In this post, Sam Yen shares his thinking on the importance of creativity in the innovation process and also how can enterprises scale creativity in their organisations. He shares the importance of finding the right problem to solve in the innovation process. I totally agree with him on the importance of finding the right problem to solve, before even attempting to solve any problem.

2. If you are determined to help, you can always find a way :

In this video, Mr. Bean (yes, THE Mr. Bean) decides to help a roadside musician and finds that he doesn’t have any change that he can give to the musician. What happens after that is something that is so typical of Mr. Bean. You have to watch the video (less than 2 minutes) to find that out.

3. Music Album – Ta Dhom by Viveick Rajagopalan :

I enjoy Indian classical and hip-hop music. Viveick has created an album which blends both of them and weaves magic through the music and the lyrics. I have been listening to this album on loop and loving it more and more with every loop.

4. Minimalism – A documentary :

I watched this documentary on Netflix and loved it both for the content and also a lot of respect for the two authors who go on a 9-month long road trip to spread the message. You can read the book “Everything That Remains”, that they are promoting. People who know me, already know that I have drastically shrunk my wardrobe to a minimal collection. After seeing this documentary, I think there is still a lot of scope for me to minimise stuff from my life. The question to ask is the following – If you could only own stuff that you can carry in two backpacks, what would you want in those backpacks. Everything else can be removed from our lives gradually if that is what works for you.

5. Double Your creativity with ONE Simple Step :

This post by Matthew E May really helped me understand the concept of re-framing in a completely novel way. The question he asks is the following: If you have to make this equation true, with minimum steps, how would you go about doing it: “XI + I = X”. Answer this question and then check out the post. You will be in for a surprise.
