Hope and Purpose

One of the biggest challenges that we face as a generation is extreme polarisation, leading to a feeling of cynicism, despair and loneliness.

Social media and an always on commentary about what we are missing out on (based on what people on social media are doing) only exacerbates these feelings.

Add to that the current trend of business leaders mandating their employees to come back to office, albeit only for a few days in a week, is only adding fuel to the cynicism.

On top of that is the layoffs that we see all around us is not helping. And the wide spread adoption of smart machines and intelligent algorithms present a possibility of more work getting automated and more people losing jobs adds to the despair and despondency.

In this scenario, it is our responsibility, as leaders to sow the seeds of hope and create a sense of shared purpose amongst those we lead. We need to inspire those in our charge to believe that there is a better future possible and work towards making it happen.

True test of leadership is in times of despair and in challenging times like the one we are in.

Great leaders replace despair with hope and cynicism with purpose. The question is, are you working towards becoming one?

The time is now, the opportunity is ripe!!

It is time to rise and shine!!!

Power to all leaders!!!
